Gradings and the grading syllabus
Being affiliated to the JKS, MK SKA follows the JKS grading syllabus - see links below for full details. Grades go from 10th Kyu (White Belt) to 1st Kyu (Brown Belt with two white stripes) before reaching Black Belt (1st Dan) and beyond.
All gradings below black belt are usually undertaken at a local dojo under the guidance of a grading examiner. Black belt gradings are taken by JKS senior instructors at events run by the JKS.
All Black Belts awarded by JKS England are registered in Japan.
